Quality Policy of the Department of Digital Industry Technologies for the development and improvement of the Master's Program in "Robotics and Industrial Control"
The Quality Assurance Policy of the Department of Digital Industry Technologies is fully aligned with the quality policy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, making the Department of Digital Industry Technologies committed to providing high-quality higher education in both Greek and English to the students who choose it. The department organizes and implements Master's Programs of high academic standards and significant added value, both in Greek and English, in the most important fields and areas of the department's science.
Additionally, the department strives to develop a creative environment of research, free scientific expression, and work for all its staff and members of its academic community. The department is committed to applying this quality policy to all current and future master's programs it offers, implementing the quality procedures prescribed by the university's Quality Assurance System, with the ultimate goal of their continuous improvement. Through this Quality Policy, the academic character and orientation of the Master's Programs are strengthened, their purpose and subject matter are promoted, and specific annual objectives are set. It also outlines the means and ways to achieve these objectives and ensures the participation of interested parties in the evaluation and redesign processes.
Specifically, for the implementation of this policy in the Master’s Program in Robotics and Industrial Control, the Department is committed to applying the quality processes/procedures outlined and detailed in the Quality Manual of the University’s Quality Assurance System (QAS), and implemented at the level of the Department’s Programs of Study with the necessary specialization/personalization in this Master's Program, in close cooperation with the University’s Quality Assurance Unit (QAU). All quality assurance processes of the Department’s Master's Programs are subject to inspection, review, and revision, conducted annually by the Internal Evaluation Group (IEG) in collaboration with the University’s QAU. The processes/procedures applied for the monitoring and continuous improvement of the quality of the Master’s Programs are as follows:
The application of the aforementioned procedures in the Master’s Program in Robotics and Industrial Control will ensure a) the appropriateness of the program’s structure and organization, b) that the learning outcomes and resulting qualifications of the Master’s graduates aim to correspond as closely as possible with the European and National Qualifications Frameworks for Higher Education at level 7, c) the promotion of quality and effectiveness in the teaching of the Master’s Program through monitoring by the coordinating committee, IEG, the department administration, and the University’s QAU, d) that the qualifications of the teaching staff, particularly external collaborators, are appropriate for the education of the Master’s students, e) the drafting, implementation, and review of specific annual quality goals for the improvement of the Master’s Program in Robotics and Industrial Control, f) the level of demand for the graduates' qualifications in the job market, through regular market needs surveys and monitoring the career progress of the Master’s Program graduates, g) that the support services provided to Master’s students meet their needs for effective study, e.g., easily accessible and available administrative services, online services, scholarships, and student care services suitable for the Master’s Program, h) the efficient utilization of financial resources from tuition fees to provide necessary services to the Master’s students and facilitate program operations at the department's facilities and any other required activities, such as field visits outside the department for comprehensive training, i) the conduct of the annual internal evaluation and review of the quality assurance system for the Master’s Program in Robotics and Industrial Control in collaboration with IEG and the University’s QAU.
